The Hateful 8

sponsored by Bowtech Inc.

Besides our main course, we offer a novelty course we lovingly call 'The Hateful 8'. Sort of like the movie. But more brutal.

Open on Friday afternoon as well as Saturday (after the first day's scoring round). Every time you pay to play a round, your name goes into a draw for a fantastic prize...thanks to Bowtech Inc!

It's a great way to practice for the following day, hang out with friends and of course perhaps go home with an amazing prize.

The Average Joe

In 2019, for our first Southern Canadian Classic, we introduced our signature feature, The Average Joe

Who is the Average Joe?

It's the person who isn't the best shooter out there, nor the worst. Sure, archery is fun especially if you're an "okay" shooter because you can only get better, but why not get rewarded in the meantime?

That's why we invented The Average Joe.  Where, in each money class with a minimum of 10 shooters, the person who has the AVERAGE SCORE will win EQUAL TO THE SECOND PLACE FINISHER'S EARNINGS.

We want to draw out all levels and all categories of shooters - including those who may tend to shy away from tournaments because they know winning money isn't usually in the cards.

But with The Average Joe, it PAYS to be average.

*any ties will be broken using ASA rules

Important Notes

We use ASA scoring but we do have different aspects to our tournament compared to an ASA (speed limits, classes, payouts etc).

*****

As a competitor it is your responsibility to understand the rules and to ensure you are in the CORRECT class when you register and follow the rules of that class. Failure to do so may result in disqualification. Please acquaint yourself with the rules on our website before our tournament. If you have ANY questions, don’t hesitate to message or email us before the tournament. We are happy to help!

*****

Regarding prizes, we do that on the Saturday night right after dinner. You do not have to be present to win BUT if you do not shoot on Saturday for any reason, you will NOT be eligible for them. All prizes must be collected Sunday (no holds, sorry). Those registered in the cub class are not eligible for main prizes but we will have a separate draw for them.

*****

Starting in 2026 we will no longer be taking any requests to pair people up on Day 1, EXCEPT for parents/guardians of children. This is a tournament and there's a lot of logistics to ensure integrity. We set our groups to include at least one ASA format experienced archer so those new to the sport have someone they can turn to. Plus it is only 20 targets each day and we guarantee you’ll make new friends. Please note: parents of very young children who need to be chaperoned all weekend may not necessarily be peer grouped the second day
